Details: Located at the mouth of the Patuxent River, the Calvert Marine Museum offers outdoor, waterfront wedding and reception settings in the Boat Basin at the Drum Point Lighthouse; aboard the historic sailing vessel William B. Tennison; or under the 30-by-40-foot Corbin Pavilion. Indoors, the museum lobby – which features a wooden dance floor and access to restrooms and a full kitchen – can accommodate 75 seated guests or up to 150 standing guests.

Details: Idyllic is a private home with a pastoral feel and a spectacular view of the Wicomico River. It can host an unlimited number of outdoor guests. The property allows for infinite set-ups, including tents in a large, open field; a large area between the house and the river bank; and paved, lighted tennis courts often used as a dance floor. Guests bring all rentals to the site. A gazebo and shaded area near the water are perfect for small wedding ceremonies.    

Mattawoman Creek Arts Center, Marbury

Details: This art center facility, including its two galleries, porch and/or the large yard overlooking Mattawoman Creek, is uniquely decorated with outdoor sculptural art is perfect for an afternoon or evening wedding reception. Guests will need to bring in tents, tables and chairs, a caterer, and extra, portable bathroom facilities.

Middleton Hall, Waldorf

Details: Three rooms are available. Some special features include a fountain with a bench, two fireplaces and one staircase perfect for a bride’s grand entrance. A popular option is having the Patuxent Room arranged in a chapel style for the wedding ceremony and then having guests wander to another banquet room for the wedding reception.

Mount Republican, Newburg

Details: This private home built in 1792 sits on 400 acres and is one mile from the Potomac River. The grand entrance includes magnolia trees lining the driveway and beautiful landscaping with a water view in the distance. Tents, portable bathrooms, catering needs and all other rentals must be brought to the site. Guests may have an indoor or outdoor ceremony.
